Over the past few weeks the Devon Church Weddings team have been asking vicars and members of the public for their top wedding tips. As we enter the summer wedding season here are our top tips for wedding preparation and on the day.
With so much to plan, here are a few things you may not have thought of:
When you go and hear your banns read, go up for a blessing at communion, so you get used to walking up and down the aisle.
Use flower petals for confetti-they’re biodegradable & show up better in the photos.
If there is a family link with the church try and weave this into the day.
Make the wedding as stress free & simple as possible.
Save on flowers and move wedding flowers from the church to the reception venue.
Having put so much time, effort and money into planning your wedding, the day is finally here! It will pass by in a flash so here are our top 5 tips to make the most out of your day:
Delegate delegate delegate! Allocate jobs to people so you’re not the person in charge on the day.
Stay hydrated, especially when it’s hot!
Like the wedding at Cana (John 2:1–11) make sure you don’t run out of food and drink!
Take a moment by yourself to take it all in and see how your loved ones are having such a great day with you all.
Know that God is cheering you on “We love because he first loved us” (1 John 4:19)
